A lady responded that she has an HP #28 cartridge I could have.
I did not know that it was possible to switch the numbers out on ink for printers. Can you? I don't know how to find out, as I am sure if I ask on the HP site, they’ll state no because they want me to purchase the #26.
What is the consensus on this? Can you switch them out if they are the same size?
Please no replies about buying one anyway, or filling the old one with new ink as I know about that stuff and just want to know about switching. I’m poor and can’t buy or refill anything at this time.
Answer:
you need the cartridge specified for your printer. they have different tabs and footprints specific to a printer series…
Answer:
dear you can not switch the cartridge i did this one time and i have always had HP and the darn thing (printer) just told me it wasn’t the right cartridge and the darn printer refuses to work unless you put in the right cartridge
Answer:
It's rare that you can do that, visit this HP site and enter your printer model #. It will return what ink your printer can take.
