A small problem help please? Unidentifiable printer error?
Jun 06

So I got a trial version of Acrobat and it expired, so it keeps asking me for a serial number. That's understandable, but now I'm trying to print something using Photoshop, Acrobat is not even open, and it won't let me print. It does state “System Printer (Adobe PDF)” when I press print and the dialogue box comes up. Then another dialogue box states “PDF creation cannot continue because Acrobat is not activated.” I’m not even TRYING to make a pdf file… just trying to do something entirely different with Photoshop! Why is Acrobat being such a nazi!?

Answer:
Hello,
If it were me I would uninstall Adobe Acrobat using the “add remove programs” option in windows.

When you need to read a PDF file you’ll have the option to download the free reader.

Next I would open Photoshop and look for a “preferences” or “options” section and setup your printer for default.

Photoshop evidently defaults to Adobe Acrobat for all it's printing needs and you will have to “tell it” which printer to use.

I don't have Photoshop so I really can't check but would be willing to bet that's what is wrong.

Maybe that will help,
Al
