It's a Epson CX6000..I was flagged saying to replace the yellow cartridge.I purchased a new factory cartridge and still the printer won't recognize it.Epson tech said he would mail a new one.Something about a anti-tampering chip in these things that Epson makes to foil refills and tampering. Why are they doing this to honest paying customers??

Answer:
I had a client whose epson printer would not recognize any cyan cartridge. I removed the cartridge and looked into the printer with a flashlight. There was a little piece of foil from a previous cartridge on the pins, shorting them out. I also had a client whose printer wouldnt recognize any cartridges and it had to go back to epson.

Inkjet companies take great pains to protect their profit margin, which is the ink. It sells for about $5,000 a gallon! (and you thought gas was bad). Sometimes their pains end up biting customers like this. If you want to save money on Epson cartridges, you can find brand new (not refilled) cartridges at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp which work great. Your printer uses the same ones as my cx8400 - the T069.

Answer:
I would get a refund! If the new one does the same thing.. it has to be the printer!

Answer:
to protect their hardware and their sales figures
