I need to pick up an inkjet for color prints and am trying to decide between Cannon MP470 and MP520. The 520 uses separate C/M/Y cartridges that are $15 each = $45 for all three. The 470 uses an all in one cartridge that costs between $25 and $35, depending on the capacity. However, I assume you replace the whole cartridge when one color runs out.
Are separate C/M/Y cartridges cheaper in the long run than an all in one color cartridge or vice versa? Any thoughts on printer ink appreciated.

I’ve cancon mp-780, with 6 cartridges I buy the ink from the supermarket for $22.00 and I get 2 fills out of them and have not brought any cartridges for 2y. The ink is ok I've not had any problem with it and I do lot of printing
