Many of them need the cartridges reset when filled or the machine will not print.
Answer:
Even the refilling companies do not seem to be able to reset them Report Abuse
Answer:
yes and with good reason. refilling cartridges is the single best way to destroy your printer. When a cartridge sits around empty, the ink left inside clots. Then alone comes someone who pours in new ink and figures out how to reset the chip. That clot makes its way into the print head and goodbye printer. If you read the messages on this site there are at least 3 or 4 daily of people complaining that they refilled their cartridges and now the printer doesnt work even with brand new cartridges installed.
It's not only a hazardous practice, it's a foolish one. You can purchase brand new compatible cartridges for most printers for about the same as it would cost to refill a cartridge without the mess. I’ve been buying 2-piece cartridges for Epson printers for $3 at http://ccs-digital.com. The ink is in a separate container inside the cartridge. When the ink runs out, I pop out the ink container, pop in a new one and continue. They hold 50% more ink than regular cartridges. How much cheaper would refilling be - even if it worked? I avoid the danger and the mess.
Answer:
I have been refilling my ink cartridges for years and have never had any kind of printer trouble.
Now to answer you're question. I don't know if I would use the word sabotage, but I know for a fact that color labels on HP Cartridges don’t match the color in the ink wells. You need to stick a toothpick in each well to see the color it contains
Answer:
Haha, I wouldn't be surprised. But if they did we would never hear about it. They lose SO much money whenever someone goes and just 'successfully' refills their cartridge.
Answer:
Yep, they program the cartridges to no longer work after the cartridge says it is empty. No reset on them.
