I'm trying to hook up a new Lexmark printer ( 2600 series ) to my Dell computer, and it keeps on giving me a connection problem screen…I’ve changed the connection to every USB port I have, still no connection..Please can someone help me? I've gone thru the process step by step but still no connection..

If you’ve Vista you may want to go to Lexmarks website, download and use the latest Vista drivers for your install. A lot of Lexmark printer owners were upset because Lexmark really dropped the ball in getting the Vista drivers out. Could be that the drivers on the CD that came with the printer are XP drivers that won't work with Vista.
Might have to do those 2 scans to align the heads before it will work when you plug the printer in. If it still doesnt work try unplugging the usb cord rebooting then plugging the core back in. Althou it tells you to plug it in at a specific time-it doesn't appear to be working. Perhaps the “new hardware found” Wizard will do what it actually needs to do to install it.
Could also try going with the “add printer” routine

When all else fails, look in the handbook that came with your
printer, there should be a help phone number.
If not, I've also called my local “Best Buys” electronics store and talked to someone in their computer department. Those guys they hire are usually computer geeks and have helped me many times! They also are affiliated with the “Geek Squad” personal repair people.
