My printer is hooked up to my computer but i want to print things from my laptop wirelessly. My laptop is Vista if that helps.
Answer:
very simple as long as your printer is attached to your computer, and your computer is on the same network as your laptop. go to control panel>> printers and faxes>>add printer>> one attached to another personal or network option>>find it>>add it.
If that doesn't work send it to your personal I.P address as your printer is attached to it.
Answer:
Sorry, you need to go to your computer with the printer first, go control panel>printers faxes>then right click on chosen printer then click SHARE, now it is visible to network. now go back to your laptop and try steps above again. if that doesn't work i will tell you IP way but it is complicated Report Abuse
Answer:
For a while, wireless printers were the rage. But it was used with an infrared signal. An invisible beam of light would connect the laptop to the printer. There are still some older printers available that can work that way. The Canon BJC-85 printer is able to work wirelessly.
But your laptop has to be able to send the infrared beam of light. And I don't know of many nowadays that do that. The idea just didn't really get popular. There might be some other form of wireless, like with a small radio signal, Bluetooth is one form of radio signal. But I'm not really sure.
That also was tried some years ago, but again, didn't really become a popular thing. You'd have to check your laptop instructions to see if it can work with Bluetooth, and then have a printer which can receive Bluetooth.
Answer:
you would have to either have a wireless printer or purchase a wireless adapter at radio shack, staples, etc. They're like $30-$40 .
