I’ve a XC23 series copier and I want to know if I can just throw it out or is there a way to recycle it? I would prefer recycle it, but I'm not sure how.

You should recycle it. You can take it to any Staples store and they have the ability to recycle it for you. I know my local store takes them for recycling.

If you call a local supplier of printer cartridges they might come and pick them up if they have a use for them….
