when i print out the ink smears over and stuff. sometimes a message would be a new ink cartridge is installed check margins check manual or something. what can i do i cant keep having my papers print out like this?

Is this an inket? If it's an inkjet, is it an inkjet with an integrated printhead and resevoir or are they separate? If it is an integrated inkjet, replace the cartridge. If it is not, try cleaning the print head. If it's a laser printer, you probably are not qualified to fix it, but you can replace the fixer element.

Does your printer have a “clean” option? Check your software to see if you can clean the heads via Personal computer or if you can realign the cartridges. When you change the print cartridges, they need to be realigned in order to make the images/text appear clean.

You probably installed the printer cartridges wrong. Check them and see if they’re in right, and if they aren't then try the clean option on it.
