I am barely computer literate so if there is a way I need simple, basic instructions.
I just purchased a new 3-in-1 printer but also have an old HP 1000 Laserjet that still works great and that I love because of the huge amount of printing i can get out of the giant toner cartridge. Is there any way to hook both of them up to my CPU and switch back and forth between them for printing? I 've never heard of this but I would envision it is done at businesses. This is for a home desktop computer. Thanks.
Answer:
Yes, hook them both up to your computer and install them and when you go to print you can choose which printer to use when the printing box comes up. You can also right click on the symbol of the one you use more and choose the “set as default printer” line and that one will automatically be the one that prints first (you can still choose the other one when the dialouge box pops up). Hope this helps.
Answer:
You can run as many printers as you’ve ports for them. I believe both printers are usb-connected, so as long as you’ve 2 usb ports you're fine.
You install them both. They both show up as available printers. One will be the default printer, for those times when you don't specify wihich printer you want.
When you print state, a word doc, you choose File, Print and then you get a list of printers that are installed. Pick either.
I understand that you haven't heard of this, but it's done all the time, and not just by businesses.
Answer:
If theyre both USB printers, plug them both in and whenever you get the print box, you can select which printer in the top drop-down menu.
If your old printer has that giant connector, thats fine becasue most new printers have USB.
Answer:
