How long do ink cartridges last when used daily? Basic Printer Sharing—— 10 Points to the Ideal Answer!?
May 09

I'm tempted to purchase on line cartridges that are compatible and cheaper than Epsons own cartridges.

However Epson state that using other cartridges will damage their/my printer.

I would appreciate any comments as to whether this is so.

Thank you

Bill

I have an epson printer, and it really does not matter what ink you use. It comes up with message “the ink you are using isn’t EPSON, blah blah” this is just to make you purchase their ink. I use Ink Jet and it is fine!
Here is a good site.

Just make sure you purchase the right type for your printer.
Follow this link to find out what ink you need, (enter your printer into the box), then search for the ink you need on Ebay etc. Good luck :)

Answer:
I have two Canon printers.

In one I used 100% genuine cartridges, in the other I used cheap refills.

After two years of moderate usage on each, the one using refills needed a new printer head - this was only £20 cheaper than a new printer. As the one using geniunes is still going strong after over 3 years of use, I put the print-head problem down to the refills.

An instantly noticeable difference between genuines and refills is the print quality: the genuine cartridges have a much smaller ink output, hence creating a smaller dot on your page which doesn't run at all. Refills excrete much more ink, hence making the dots put onto the page considerably larger, and reducing your print resolution. The dots run on the page more too.

Also, the refills use ink at a faster rate, so it is questionable whether it's actually cheaper at all…

Answer:
I always buy compatible cartridges for my Epson Colour R340 from www.inkmasters.co.uk

In the last 2 years they have all worked out great, are far cheaper than Epson cartridges and pics I have printed have had really vivid colouring. I think the likes of Epson undertake scaremongering to a degree to keep you buying from them.

Answer:
In some very rare cases, badly made cartridges can damage your printer. Refilled and remanufactured cartridges definitely can because the old ink inside may have clotted and that can block your heads. But brand new compatibles should be fine.

I have been buying compatible cartridges for my Epsons for at least ten years from http://ccs-digital.com They give a full money-back warranty (which I havent needed) and they give a discount for non-credit card payment and for being a repeat customer. I end up paying less than $3 each. These cartridges hold 66% more ink than Epson. I havent seen any difference in print quality. Will these last 100 years like Epson claims theirs will? I'll let you know in 90 years. If you decide to go with them, tell them DavidJ sent you. You get a free cartridge if you come in through a referral.

i purchase all my print stuff from www.choice stationary.co.uk
they are brilliant firm to deal with, i buy hp non compatible
cartridges for it from them and never had a problem

Answer:
That's BS. You can use any compatible cartridge for your printer.

Answer:
You can use compatibles - If you ever try and get the printer fixed on warranty from Epson though they’ll refuse to do so as you’ve not used their products.

Answer:
If it is already out of warranty then you can use them, but if you are using them and something goes wrong, it voids your warranty to use them.

Answer:
I’ve a epson all in one printer, and I have been using compatible cartridges since I bought over three years ago, and I’ve never had any trouble using them.
