Apart from direct to HP, has anyone seen a website with it downloadable? HP are quite slower at support for old products.
Thanks!
Answer:
HP don't appear to support this printer for Macs any more. Apple's built in drivers may give you some print options under 10.3 (the generic drivers apparently run fine with the HP1010 under Leopard 10.5).
A site seems to offer a download for $3 (http://members.driverguide.com/driver/de… but I can't tell you if it is a valid driver, as it doesn't come directly from HP.
HP do offer a CD (I've never known a company sell a driver for one of their own products before), but if your Mac can see the printer, try setting the driver as 'HP Jetdirect' from within the print preferences. I don't think the 1010 is a postscript printer though, so it may not work with the more generic drivers.
Lastly there’s a free, open source driver for HP printers that will run on Mac OSX 10.2-10.5. Try here: http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPr…
