Does anyone know how many pages you can generally print from one black cartridge? The printer is a HP 7660 photosmart printer. Thanks!
Answer:
According to HP's specifications for that model it will print 450 pages. This will be based on the industry standard of measuring ink use and its therefore referring to 5% coverage on a page - which is a standard business letter, not full pages of text.
As standard business letters have tiny text on them if you scrunch up all the worlds into one pile that is about 1/3 of a sheet of text as it would appear on a page. Therefore that 450 pages could be about 150 pages of actual text. It also does not state on what standard it is basing it's claims on IE draft or best. On draft it will be paler so print more pages but perhaps not be very good quality ones. On ideal it will use more ink. This question is effectively none answerable in exacts as what you print could effect the amount of ink used. But never take the manufactures claim about ink as true as they all basic manipulate the figures, like not telling you what in their world equals a page.
