Laser Printers print faster but when I look at the specs they generally have a lower PPM than a Inkjet printer. Look at these 2 for examples. The first one (inkjet) says 37ppm while the second one (laser) says 12ppm. Please help me!!!

Answer:
A laser printer prints at a nearly constant speed. An inkjet prints faster if there is less on the page and the quality is set way low. So they give the specs the same way they give MPG on a car. Yes, you can get 40 mpg is you only drive downhill and never have to cease. But we know the reality. In almost all cases, a laser will be faster than an inkjet, sharper on text and cheaper on ink/toner. Get an inkjet if you’ve the need for color or dont print much volume. I actually have a few of both and use them depending on what I'm printing.
Answer:
Well, it just seems like the inkjet printer is faster then. It is not that uncommon actually.
Still, you probably get better quality with the laser printer when printing ordinary documents and graphics. Maybe not pics.
Also they might calculate the printspeed based on the lowest possible quality printout and therefore get higher ppm.
Hope this helps.
