I am trying to print out some of my school work in black ink only, but it keeps telling me because the blue is out it won’t print. Do I have to replace the blue, I do not print in color anyway, I always use the draft print to save ink. I print a lot of stuff for school, but now it won't let me. Anyone know if I really have to go out and buy a color cartridge? My printer is an Epson Stylus CX7400.

Answer:
I don't think so. what i do is go into the printer and remove the color cartridge and close the printer and then turn printer off and then turn it back on. Once you have done this, go to printer properties and it will recognize that the color cartridge has been removed and it will need you to confirm it, that you only want black and white. once you've done this, it should grant you to print in black and white.

Hope i helped.

Answer:
Well yes unless there’s an ignore or a way to fool the printer by saying you installed a new cartridge, or you remove the cartridge and put it back in and if it asks if it is new state it is. Try that it worked on my lexmark cus its dumb.

Answer:
In Printing Properties change your setting from “Color” to Black and white or Greyscale. That may help
