I’ve a lexmark x5070 all in one printer, and i have no idea where to find the ink cartridges.? Ink and printer problem!?
Sep 18

I use the hp Deskjet 3930 with 1 tricolor ink cartridge. I just bought a new one, and for some reason it refuses to print black ink, but color ink shows up. If I put it in grayscale the dark colored ink can come out as nearly black.

But why is black ink not printing?

I've messed around with the different settings, nothing seems to be working.

Help?

Answer:
Like the above poster said, most printers utilize TWO ink cartridges, one for color, another solely for black. They sit side-by-side in the printer carriage. Here’s a link to show you how to install your printer cartridges.

Sorry to state, but to mend your “problem” you need to go out and purchase a “Black Ink cartridge” for your printer, and install it into the printer carriage.

Answer:
I use a HP printer like you, although not the same model. Mine uses two cartridges - colour and black. If the black ink runs out, we need to purchase a new black cartridge and vice versa. I can print off plain text documents with just a colour cartridge, but the solidity of the black is not as it would be with a proper black ink cartridge - it's more of a grey colour.

You need 2 cartridges - easy as

Answer:
It prints as close as it can. You can mess around with the settings like you did but you really end up with dark purple or green.

Even if you had a black cartridge it would use the color. The ink manufacturers get more for the color cartridges and do it on purpose. I usually take the color cartridge out if im going to print a bunch of text

Answer:
Most printers have two separate ink cartridges, one for the three colors and a separate one for black. This is because black is used so much. You need to replace your black ink cartridge.

Answer:
that printer only comes with color. You can purchase a black and white cartridge separate. The color one should still be able to print black and white though.

Answer:
that is because black is not a color, it is a shde. There’s a separate ink cartridge for black.

Answer:
Black is in a separate cartridge

Answer:

Answer:
