Dsi internet help!!!!!!!!!? My canon printer is printing black streaks on my pics?
Apr 08

I'm looking at buying the above printer, and see that it uses a 5-ink system. The printer only ships with four inks however, and on closer investigation it turns out that the printer accepts two black cartridges, but only ships with one. Can someone clarify what the second black is used for and if it is necessary? I'll be mostly using the printer for pics.

Thanks

Answer:
The cartridges are cyan, magenta, yellow, black and the pigment black which is the more massive cartridge.

Edit… The pigment black cartridge is optional in the sense that if you REALLY want , good pic reproduction and color, it is controlled through with the pigmentation which is what the 5th cartrdige does. Also, if you want to print black and white photos, that cartridge is used . Otherwise, it will eat up your small black cartridge . The object is to keep those 4 cartridges at an even level sort of.
Also, if you’ve text and want a good clean , crisp output, that extra cartrdige will produce just that compared to the smaller one. Thanks for the TD. Now warranted.
