I used to refill them myself until I bought a new printer and discovered that the new type of cartridges are not refillable because of a built in chip or something.
Does anyone know where I have the ability to purchase (other than ebay) them cheap?

It's going to depend on the brand and model of your printer, but for the most part, there should be either compatible or remanufactured cartridges available. Both of these options are an excellent way to save money. The two sites I'd suggest where you can find these are:

You havent stated what model printer. I get Epson cartridges at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp I've been using them for years. They’ve a few canon and brother but mainly epson.

Staples has ink for cheap prices. I work in IT and we only shop at Staples for our toner and ink cartages.
