I have an Epson RX420 and all of the lights are flashing and there is a letter E appearing where you put how many copies you want. is it worth getting it fixed or shall i purchase a new printer
Answer:
Check if ink and paper OK, if so, then the two most likely scenarios are, fault developed with printer, in which case bin it and replace it with a new one, or the drivers have become corrupted.
If the drivers have become corrupted, then you need to unplug the printer from the personal (switch off printer and unplug all leads). Then go to your control panel, (add remove ) programs, and uninstall all the printer and scanner drivers. Reboot your machine and re-install the drivers from scratch. Re-connect the printer as instructed via the installation program. If the problem persists, then it is likely you’ll need to replace the printer with a new one.
There’s a third possibility, have you made any changes to your operating system (services or printer startup programs) or deleted any programs just prior to the problem occurring. It is quite possible there may be an O.S. corruption.
Look to your local suppliers for reduced bargains, my colleague has just purchased an Epson stylus SX110 for 45 pounds (sterling), it copes with heavy duty pic paper and card very well, print quality is excellent. It is an all-in-one which can also be used as a photo copier. Compatible ink cartridges work out at approximately 2 pounds each, 8 pounds per set of four, so not expensive to run.
I quote the SX110 as only one possibility to take into account, there are several other excellent printers to be had if you look around, but do check the running costs and print quality are before purchasing.
Answer:
Don't know about the RX420…. Could be out of paper (E = Empty or EXPLODE)
Try hitting it a few times… then purchase a new one. Unless the RX is an extremely good printer ? You can buy a new one for about the same price as 4 new ink cartridge's… You'll get I more year guarantee and new cartridges…Not very ecological though
